In the early 1950's, Southern Shores Realty was the exclusive sales agency for the developer of the Southern Shores community, at 2,600 acres, the first and largest planned residential community on the Outer Banks. Our services have grown to include Property Management, Vacation Rentals, Residential and Commercial Leasing, as well as Sales Assistance. We currently employ 63 full and part time year round staff, and over 100 seasonal employees.
Southern Shores Realty prides itself on having one of the most stable and experienced Sales Divisions on the Outer Banks. With 9 full time licensed brokers, and dedicated support staff, you can count on us to meet all of your real estate sales needs.
Our Rental Division consists of 7 licensed rental and property managers with fully staffed year round reservations and property services departments. We handle over 700 seasonal, year round and commercial rental properties. Additionally, Southern Shores Realty provides property management services for vacant or second homes.

It was a great experience. This is our 5th trip to the Outer Banks and 5th house, but the first rented through SSR. I cannot imagine contacting another realtor in the future – you were prompt, responsive, helpful, patient and did thoughtful, yet unexpected follow up.
The Best on the Beach

I have stayed in numerous houses over the last 19 years on the Outer Banks. My family and friends have rented with many rental companies. Southern Shores is the best rental company on the beach. Their houses are clean, they respond quickly to any problems, and their brochure tells you everything you need to know about your rental home. They are terrific. We now only rent in Southern Shores. Best value also with their rentals and top quality of homes. What more could you ask for.

We rented various houses from Southern Shores for 17 years. Never had a problem with the Realty company. If there was a problem at the house, they were there in a flash to fix it. They impressed us so much that when we built our beach house in Southern Shores there was no question as to whom we wanted to manage our rental.

I have been vacationing at the Outer Banks for over 55 years mostly in KHawk, KDHills, & NHead. In 2004 & 2005 we rented the beautiful home Westerly on the sound thru Southern Shores Realty. Our experience with SSRealty was so positive, that when the Westerly was no longer offered for rent, we looked for another property thru your company. The staff, the properties, and the service are tops! In 2007 I reported to SSR that the home was not very clean when we arrived. You listened and the next year it was spotless. Each year for one week the community of Southern Shores and the surrounding areas become our home. The best part of our vacation is spending time with our grandson. Our only regret is that we can not stay the summer.
