Blue Crab, Kayak, and Cook | OBX Events

Here on the Outer Banks, we're known for our Blue Crab. From hard shell to soft shell, whether getting it from a local restaurant or going crabbing yourself off a dock.

There is a rich history in crabbing here on the Outer Banks and Kitty Hawk Kayaks is holding an event where you can learn about this rich history and see crabbing in action from the view of a kayak. It's a kayak tour through the beautiful Kitty Hawk Bay. After building up an appetite from hearing all the local history about crabbing then, as a second part of the tour, enjoy a taste of Blue Crab, including a private crab cooking demonstration, provided by Coastal Provisions Market and Outer Banks Epicurean Amy Huggins. The Blue Crab, Kayak, and Cook Event is on every Wednesday from 7:45am until 11:00am but reserve your spot soon. The tour usually runs until August but ends when crabbing season ends (which is decided by the crabs).
