Outer Banks Beach Report April 1, 2014

April 1, 2014

Michael Bolton is coming to the Outer Banks!  Dolphins are being ridden in Nags Head!  You have to see this:

Known for his stage presence and undeniable talent, Michael Bolton is set to take the stage, or rather the beach, this Thursday in Kitty Hawk, NC.  The event is relatively unpublicized until now, thanks to expert managers for Bolton.  To boost morale during the forecasted extreme temperatures, a truck load of new Waffle Tacos & Burritos are being donated by an area restaurant.

In other news, over three dozen individual pods (groups) of Dolphin were spotted just north of Jennette’s Pier in Nags Head, NC.  Some beach goers were brazen enough to mount some of the marine mammals and ride them for an extended period of time.  There are no reports back yet of any injuries as a result of these fun rides.  Camera crews in the area apparently joined in on the good times and lost all footage of the spectacle.

The surf is picking up big time right now.  It may not look like it, but forecasters at SwellTideInfoOrg.net have predicted nearly 25’+ waves this week for our beaches.  Expert surfers are to be in the region soon given the competitions taking place on the Outer Banks.

Getting to the beach for all this fun should be much easier thanks to NCDOT’s newest construction completion… the Mid-Currituck tunnel.  Opened just three weeks ago, the Mid-Currituck tunnel is temporarily taking place of a proposed bridge to cut the drive times to Corolla, NC.  Until April 31, 2014, there are no tolls being assessed on this route.  NCDOT representatives were unable to comment, but traffic through the tunnel is expected to be dense at times given the events on the Outer Banks this week.

Need a place to stay during all this excitement?  Southern Shores Realty offers over 600 vacation rental homes from Corolla to S. Nags Head… sure to offer a great experience during any and all satirical events depicted above! 🙂
