Monday August 5th:

Escape Pirate Ship THE ADVENTURE:

The North Carolina Aquarium on Roanoke Island has teamed up with the escape-room company, Will You Escape? LLC, to provide a fun, new attraction for all ages. This summer, check out the aquarium's new pirate-ship themed escape room. The whole family can enjoy this puzzling and exciting adventure for $15 each. Five dollars of every ticket purchase will be donated to the aquarium's Sea Turtle Assistance and Rehabilitation Center. Have a swashbuckling adventure AND save the sea turtles at the same time! Miss Oregon Inlet Kid's Fishing Tournament:

Attention all fishermen and fisherwomen ages 6-14, come out for a day full of fishing, prizes, and food at the Miss Oregon Inlet Annual Kid's Fishing Tournament! Pre-register for this event by calling 1-800-272-5199. The event will start at 9:30AM and run until 1:30PM. All proceeds from this event will be donated to CrossTrail Outfitters. Tuesday August 6th:

Kill Devil Hills National Night Out and Blood Drive:

National Night Out is an event focused on community-building and promoting police-community partnerships. The annual Night Out event will be held from 5:00PM to 8:00PM. The Kill Devil Hills Police Department will be hosting a blood drive from 2:00PM to 7:00PM. There are plenty of activities and groups to visit throughout the night. Come enjoy free food and drinks as you learn more about what the KDH community has to offer, including a $5 SPCA Rabies Clinic, Blood Pressure Checks, Girl Scouts, Cub Scouts, and much more! Avon Farmer's Market:

Craving something fresh or looking for something unique to the Outer Banks? Don't miss the opportunity to find both at the Avon Farmer's Market. The Market features fresh fruits and vegetables, handmade goods, and crafts. Be sure to stop by to see what local farmers and artisans have been up to. The market occurs weekly on Tuesdays until September 4th. (9:00AM - 1:00PM, 41027 Highway 12, Avon, NC 27915)

Wednesday August 7th:

Alligator River Guided Canoe Tours:

Cutting through the Heart of the Alligator River, this canoe tour will lead you through one of the most naturally wild landscapes in the Outer Banks. This tour is great opportunity for kayakers of all skill levels to experience the true range of beauty offered by the Outer Banks. The tours range between two and three hours full of learning about the history of the land and the unique animals that call this place home. Sunscreen, bug spray, and hats are all recommended. Currituck Cornhole Tournament:

Every Wednesday, the Whalehead Club hosts The Currituck Cornhole Tournament. Participants must register as a team, single players are not allowed to register. The cost of registration is $20 per team. If you do not pre-register, registration will take place the day of the competition from 3:00PM to 4:00PM. The games will start at 4:00PM and most likely run until 7:00PM. Winners and runners up will receive a prize from Currituck Travel and Tourism. All first prize winners will be entered into a drawing for a beach vacation donated by Brindley Beach! (1100 Club Road, Corolla, NC 27927)

Thursday August 8th:

Chase Payne - Concert on the Green:

Join the Town of Duck for their weekly concert series. This week, Chase Payne will be visiting the Town of Duck and playing a free show. Chase Payne is know as a rockin' country entertainer. He plays acoustically as well as with a full band. Bring chairs, blankets, and snacks for a night of fun! (6:30PM - 8:00PM, 1200 Duck Road, Duck, NC 27949)

Dowdy Park Farmer's Market:

Didn't have a chance to stop by the Avon Farmer's Market? No need to fear, there are multiple farmer's markets across the Outer Banks. This week we are lucky enough to have two. Come out for a taste of fresh produce and local goods! (9:00AM - 1:00PM, 3005 S Croatan Hwy, Nags Head, NC 27959)

Friday August 9th:

OBX Ghost Tours:

The Outer Banks have been called the most haunted beaches in the United States. Join OBX Ghost Tours on Friday night for an experience you won't forget! Follow the enthusiastic guides through Downtown Manteo as they share the stories that created Manteo's haunted history. You even get the chance to use a real ghost detector on the tour to search for ghosts around you! (Meet in front of Downtown Books, 105 Sir Walter Raleigh Street, Manteo, NC, 27954)

Pea Island Bird Walk:

Over 400 species of birds live or migrate through Pea Island National Wildlife Refuge. Come out to enjoy a casual bird walk with expert bird leaders. Bring binoculars or a camera to get the perfect view of these amazing birds. This tour will meet at the Pea Island National Wildlife Refuge Visitor Center parking lot. Saturday August 10th:

Surfing for Autism:

Experience something great this summer and come out and watch the annual Surfing for Autism event! The surfing will begin early on Saturday morning and run throughout the afternoon. Merchandise will be available for purchase throughout the event. A lunch will be held at 1:00PM for volunteers, family, and individuals with autism. Registration for the actual event has closed, but come out to watch and support this incredible event, maybe even learn some surfing skills from the competitors. Sunday August 11th:

Kitty Hawk Kites Movie Nights - Pokémon Detective Pikachu

Support the OBXSPCA during your vacation and come out for Kitty Hawk Kites Movie Nites. This Sunday, watch Pokémon Detective Pikachu with the family at sundown.
