    • The fishing piers of the Outer Banks offer amazing views of the beaches of North Carolina and a chance to reel in the catch of a lifetime. Thereare four fishing piers in the Outer Banks area offering the service of public fishing: Avalon fishing pier, Nags Head fishing pier, and Jennette's Fishing pier.       Avalon Fishing Pier
      The Avalon public fishing pier is located in Kill Devil Hills at milepost 6, across from Awful Authors. This pier is specifically popular with the locals, and not only provides an excellent location for fishing, but also outstanding views, tack rentals, bait, free parking, and smiles. Hours of operation are from 5 am until 2 am, and plus to fishing off of Avalon Pier is that they will cover the salt water fishing fee license required by North Carolina.       Nags Head Fishing Pier
      Spring through the end of fall, Nags Head Fishing Pier is opened daily for 24 hours. They have a full service tackle, and bait shop for their fishermen as well as rentals. Also, this is where the infamous Pier Restaurant is located at which is regionally known for the amazing oceanfront views out of the dining room. Stop by for a sensational breakfast overlooking the unique Outer Banks sunrises, or enjoy a free stroll down the pier after dinner.       Jennette's Fishing Pier
      If you are looking for a modern, up-to-date, extremely safe, and family friendly pier to fish at, Jennette's Pier is where you want to go. This newly designed pier reopened in the spring of 2011, and is owned by the North Carolina Aquarium Society. It's neat, because it is the oldest pier in the area, and was originally built in 1939. Locals love it, and especially Outer Banks visitors. Fishing is very diverse here, and seems to be a popular spot for the fish to hang out at. Take advantage of this 1000-foot long pier with amazing views, family programs, activities for the kids, and much more.       Outer Banks Fishing Pier
      The Outer Banks Fishing Pier is the last pier north of Oregon Inlet, located at milepost 18.5 in Nags Head, North Carolina. Explore their fully stocked bait and tackle shop, video games for children, equipment rentals, an an oceanfront grill for breakfast and lunch.
