Whether youre here for a relaxing week spent onbreathtaking beaches, or here to get away from the stress of everyday life,spending more time with the ones you love, there is always an event plannedthat is perfect for you. The Outer Banks prides itself on its communityinvolvement throughout the summer, carefully planning activities to cater toboth visitors and residents of the area. If youre like me while trying tofigure out what to do on the weekends, you can find yourself bombarded with toomany choices or find yourself bored with nothing to do. Well thats where wecome in - no longer worry about stressing over things to do during your week ofrelaxation. Once every week, This Week on the Outer Banks will have a newblog post about the incredible events and celebrations taking place throughoutthe Outer Banks for the upcoming week.

Monday June 10th

Family Fishing: Want to fish but have absolutely no idea where to begin? The Family Fishing 101 program offered by Jennettes Pier is just for you. Every weekday during the summer season at 9:00am Jennettes Pier hosts this class for beginning fishers. Spots must be reserved at a price of $15 per person. This fee includes the cost of instruction, equipment, bait, and the fishing fee. (7223 S Virginia Dare Trail, Nags Head, NC 27959)

Sunset Festival: Take part in the kick off event of Kitty Hawk Kites Sunset Festival! Running until September 1st, the Sunset Festival takes place every weeknight from 7:00pm until 9:00 or 10:00pm. With different activities each night, this is the perfect way to end the day. Join Kitty Hawk Kites on Monday to meet and take a photo with one of our local majestic mermaids! (3933 S Croatan Hwy, Nags Head, NC 27959, 7:00pm - 9:00pm)

Tuesday June 11th

Movies on the Duck Town Green: Looking for a family activity that not only entertains your children but also your inner child? Look no further. At 7:30 pm the Town of Duck will be hosting a showing of the Disney classic The Sword in the Stone at the Duck Town Green located at 1200 Duck Road. Feel free to make yourself comfortable at the showing by bringing lawn chairs, coolers, pets, blankets, or whatever else you consider a movie necessity. Concessions will be sold during the showing courtesy of OBX Popcorn Shoppe.

Sunset Festival: Come join Kitty Hawk Kites weekly Tuesday Tunes at 7:00pm as part of their Sunset Festival. Every Tuesday, local Kim Kalman provides vocal and acoustic performances as the sun sets in the distance over the dunes. (3933 S Croatan Hwy, Nags Head, NC 27959, 7:00pm - 10:00pm)

Wednesday June 12th

Kiteboarding Demo Days: Are you an intermediate to advanced kiteboarder looking for new gear? Every Wednesday until Labor Day weekend Waves Village Kiteboarding Resort in Rodanthe, NC will be offering free kiteboarding demos. Use this opportunity to try out Kitty Hawk Kites excellent new gear before you buy! (24502 NC-12, Rodanthe, NC 27968, 10:00am - 4:00pm)      

Sunset Festival: Missing the feeling that came with making your very own kite and watching it for the first time? Well there is no need to be nostalgic, come out to Kitty Hawk Kites weekly Windy Wednesday Kite Making session from 7:00pm to 9:00pm. After making your kite walk over to Jockeys Ridge State Park to fly it over the beautiful dunes!  (3933 S Croatan Hwy, Nags Head, NC 27959)

Creatures of the Night: Taking place every Wednesday at 8:00pm at Jennettes Pier, Creatures of the Night in an opportunity to get close and personal with animals that move through the night. The reservation cost is $5 per person. Each participant will be given buckets, flashlights, and nets to help them find their very own creature of the night! Thursday June 13th
