This Week on the Outer Banks: 7/15 - 7/20
Every Monday, come out to the Elizabethan Gardens for a session on Backyard Birds. Kids will learn how to draw birds and make a treat for the birds in their own backyard. After the program, children and their families are welcome to take part in a scavenger-hunt held in the gardens. A snack will be provided. The program is free with admission to the gardens, but space is limited! (1411 National Park Drive, Manteo, NC 27954)
Nags Head Morning Paddle:
Don't miss the chance to kayak or paddle board along the marshes of the Cape Hatteras National Seashore. On the tour, keep an eye out for coastal birds such as terns, pelicans, or ibis. The highlight of the tour are the dolphins that swim and play right next to you. Morning kayak prices are $45 per person and $30 for children under 12. Tuesday July 16th:
The Princess Bride:
At dusk, come out to the Duck Town Green for a community showing of the classic movie The Princess Bride. The movie is action packed with fencing, revenge, giants, chase scenes, epic escapes, true love, and miracles. A great tale for viewers of all ages, the Princess Bride is sure to be a perfect family event. Lawn chairs, coolers, and pets are welcome.
