Monday July 22nd:

OBX Bioluminescence & Full Moon Tour:

Bioluminescence is a naturally occurring phenomenon where organisms produce light as a result of a chemical reaction. Experience the beauty of bioluminescence on the water with the OBX Bioluminescence Tour. The tour is approximately one and a half hours long and is suitable for all ages. A Day at the Beach - 100 Years of Swimwear:

Make your way down to Roanoke Island Festival Park to walk through the latest exhibit, A Day at the Beach: 100 Years of Swimwear. Elaine Henson's collection of vintage advertisements and bathing suits that span from the late 1800s through the 1980s will be open daily in the Ticket Sales Gallery from 9am-5pm through September 30th. The exhibit is free to all visitors, so come out for a blast from the past to learn about the history of swimwear. (1 Festival Park, Manteo, NC 27954)

A History of Bathing Suits In Vintage Advertising:

If you are interested in Henson's exhibit, don't miss the chance to hear her discuss her work. At 6:00 PM on the 22nd, Henson will present "A History of Bathing Suits in Vintage Advertising" in Roanoke Island Festival Park's small auditorium. Tuesday July 23rd:

Ivan Pecel: Making Juggling Tolerable

Ivan Pecel has over 15 years of juggling experience and has performed on cruise ships as well as across the country. On Tuesday at 10:00AM, Pecel will be hosting a free show that will, as he claims, make juggling tolerable. While the show is free, tickets are required for admission. Get Your Name in the Cherokee Syllabary

Every Tuesday, Dr. Tina Bradley writes names in Cherokee Syllabary for visitors, explains how to pronounce the name, and even gives out a card to help visitors remember how to pronounce it. Visit the Frisco Native American Museum and Natural History Center to learn about the culture and people that thrived in this area before the Europeans sailed over. Dr. Bradley will be available from 1:00PM to 4:30PM. This activity is free with admission to the museum which is $5 per person, $15 per household, and $3 for seniors. (53536 NC-12, Frisco, NC 27936)

Wednesday July 24th:

Hayden the Magician

Hayden has studied the art of illusion for many years and has used his accumulated knowledge to create incredible magic performances that are both unique and entertaining. Tickets for the show are five dollars each. There will be one 10:30AM showing on Wednesday morning, as well as a 10:30AM and 6:00PM showing on Thursday. Light up the Night

Come out to Waves Village Watersports Resort and join Kitty Hawk Kites at 8:30PM for the annual Light up the Night event! Take part in free NOCQUA watersports demos, light up activities, or watch a movie on the big screen. NOCQUA products transform daytime activities into a nighttime adventure. Live Music at Dowdy Park:

Every Wednesday night in July and August, a night of live music is hosted at Nags Head's Dowdy Park. The event is free to all and will take place from 6:00PM to 8:00PM on Wednesday night. Thursday July 25th:

Full Plate - Concert on the Green

Come rock out on Duck Town Green as cover band Full Plate performs on Thursday night from 6:30PM to 8:00PM. The band will cover an assortment of songs, including rock from the early 60s to present day. Featuring songs by well known artists such as the Beatles and Blink-182, there is something for rock lovers of all ages! (1200 Duck Road, Duck, NC 27949)

Kid's Day in the Park at Whalehead


Each Thursday, Kid's Day is hosted in Historic Corolla Park. The event includes plenty of activities to satisfy your kids' curiosity and need to explore. There will be fun children's activities, a kite-making station, a bounce house, and even a mobile pirate ship escape room. Friday July 26th:

Light House Local Arts & Craft Shows

Every other Friday, the Buxton Life Center hosts a Light House Local Arts and Crafts Show. The show will include local artists displaying their work. Food will also be available for purchase courtesy of one of the Non-Profit Organizations on the Island. The show will run from 10:00AM until 3:00PM. (Buxton Life Center, Buxton, NC 27920)

Children's Kayak Tour

Looking for a fun activity where you can explore the natural beauty of the Outer Banks with your kids? Make sure to check out the Outer Banks Children's Kayak Tour. On this tour you can see a large variety of plants and wildlife native to the Outer Banks. This tour is approximately one hour long. Saturday July 27th:

Annual One-Design Regatta

On Saturday the Roanoke Island Maritime Museum is hosting the 17th Annual One Design Regatta. Registration for the regatta will begin at 10:00AM and the first race will start at noon. There is an entry fee of $25 per boat which includes one dinner and a t-shirt. This event is free to all onlookers and additional dinners and t-shirts will be available for purchase. Toddler Time at Jumpmasters Trampoline Park

If you're looking for a safe place your toddler to let out their energy, try Toddler Time at Jumpmasters Trampoline Park on Saturday morning. Tickets can be purchased for $8 dollars each which included admission for one adult jumper and one child under five years old. Jump socks are required for all jumpers.
