Outer Banks Events This Week: June 28-July 4

It's vacation time! Here are a few things going on this week on the Outer Banks for you and your family to attend. From concerts, to stand up paddle contests, to 4th of July fireworks, it will be a wonderful week for all!

Outer Banks SUP Series

The OBX Sup Series is brought to you by Farmdog Surf School and Wicked Oceans. Whether you have been shredding waves your whole life or just beginning, Farmdogs welcomes everyone! Registration is $25 and goes from June 28-29. Portion of proceeds will benefit Nags Head Ocean Rescue and Surfrider Foundation.

The Comedy Club: Andy Woodhull with JF Harris

From the Television screen all the way to the stage here on the Outer Banks, Andy fills the room with laughter. With his 2012 album being named top 10 comedy albums of the year, this will be a great show for everyone!  Check him out July 1-3 and July 5th. Located on the beach road in Kill Devil Hills.

 

Concert in the Duck Town Park: Donovan Carless and the Posse

Pack a cooler, blanket, chairs and enjoy the vibes of Donovan Carless. This is the perfect way to end your day at the beach enjoying live music as the sun goes down. Show begins around 6:30pm. Each week they mix up the bands to give a full variety. This event is free and open to the public!

"Outer Banks and You" LIVE!

Southern Shores Realty's official company song "The Outer Banks and You" sung by Jamie Trent will be apart of the Outer Banks Jubilee's performance on July 3, 2014. This is will be a variety show and a night full of fun for everyone in the family. If you love the Outer Banks, you will love this song and performance.

 

3rd Annual Freedom 5k

What better way to start Independence Day than running a 5k together with your family? This race is located in Kill Devil Hills and offers several distances for all ages. Swag bag, finisher medals and after party all in celebration of your completion and 4th of July! Race time starts 7A.M. at 102 Town Hall Drive.

Independence Day 1850

Island Farms welcomes you to celebrate Independence Day! Bring all of the family, a picnic, blanket, and any drinks you would like. Enjoy this larges grassy lawn as we commemorate our nation's birth. There will be musket-fire, a variety of games, and reading of the Declaration of Independence.

4th of July Fireworks and Celebrations

What better way to celebrate America's birthday than fireworks on the beach? The Outer Banks does its best to put on an amazing show every year. Each town has it's own laws, limits and times but will leave you and your family staring at the sky in amazement. Don't forget about the town parades in the morning. This is all the information you need on your 4th of July celebrations!

Killer Dunes 2-Miler & Fun Run

Located at the infamous Jockey's Ridge State Park. Start your 4th of July by charging the dunes of Jockey's Ridge with your family by your side. Proceeds will benefit Friends of Jockey's Ridge, a nonprofit dedicated to supporting, preserving,  and enhancing Jockey's Ridge. Start time is 8:30am.
